Emblazoned across my desktop background and cited in countless conversations about why the arts matter, Alan Rickman's words have always been a lodestar in my drama classroom: a guiding light, profoundly influencing the way that I teach others about my favourite industries.

Hi, I'm Lauren! I am a South African theatre-trained actor, director, devising specialist, writer and performing arts practitioner. I live in Dubai where a lot of my work sees me producing bespoke interactive experiences which consciously blur the boundaries between multiple art forms. My pedagogy involves tangibly supporting creatives of all ages to empower themselves through the arts. Throughout my career, I have been compelled to develop my own multidisciplinary approach to the theatre, arts and education industries, championing a holistic and cross-curricular infrastructure at every level.

As the founder of my own performing arts organisation in Dubai, I proudly advocate for the disruption of outdated methods of theatre-making and educational practices in favour of evolutionary 21st century methodologies. Everything I do with Collab Company is aligned with my passion for collaborating with creative individuals and educational institutions. I am privileged to be in a position where I am able to experiment with my own practice as a theatre-maker and educator as I advocate for the arts, calling for widespread change within the industries I have loved since I was a little girl.

After all, the most influential lesson I could ever teach someone is the very same lesson Alan Rickman taught me: art can change the world, and for the better. It has certainly changed mine!
