As theatre teachers, we have the unique opportunity to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters emotional well-being and cultivates resilience. However, it is important to strike a balance between providing support and challenging students to grow independently. In this blog post, we will explore how theatre teachers can effectively support social-emotional development in their students without resorting to excessive coddling.

Understanding Social-Emotional Development:

Social-emotional development encompasses the ability to recognize and manage emotions, build healthy relationships, and develop resilience in the face of challenges. Through theatre, students can explore and express their emotions, develop empathy, and enhance their interpersonal skills.

Supporting Social-Emotional Development:
