This week Jimmy talks with London-based teaching artist Jared Scott. He talks about his early training as a theatre artist, his work in theatre pedagogy, and finding the right fit in colleges and universities
Teaching Artist
Jared Scott (he/they) is an actor and teaching artist currently completing his MFA in Actor Training and Coaching at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, UK. Previously, they received their BFA in Acting from Millikin University. His primary focus is in training musical theatre actors, and will spend the next year working on a thesis on identity in musical theatre actor training. They have worked primarily on placements at Mountview in London with the MA Musical Theatre students, assistant directing the world premiere of “Emma: No One but Herself” under director Jenny Sawyer, and coaching for the industry showcase alongside freelance actor, director, and teaching artist Rohan Tickell.
